Why We Built nanoOne: Rethinking a Daily Routine
nanoOne® began with a simple question: why does brushing still depend so heavily on technique, time and consistency? Toothnology’s set out to explore whether a compact, hands-free mechanical system could guide a more repeatable full-arch routine.
The problem
Traditional brushing can work very well, but the result depends on how long, how consistently and how carefully each surface is reached. For many people, repeating the same technique every day is the real challenge.
The concept
nanoOne is being engineered around a shaped full-arch mouthpiece with coordinated moving cleaning elements. The goal is not to make exaggerated promises, but to investigate whether mechanical control can reduce dependence on manual technique.
What development has taught us
Miniature mechanisms inside a compact mouthpiece create demanding engineering constraints. Motion, sealing, fit, durability, hygiene, power and manufacturability must work together. Each prototype has helped identify what should be simplified, strengthened or tested again.
Why we have not rushed the launch
The original Kickstarter timing was adjusted so the team could complete additional prototype engineering and technical review. We would rather present a stronger functional demonstration and a clearer production plan than launch on an artificial date.
The standard we are working toward
The next milestone is a repeatable functional prototype that supports responsible technical review. Final specifications and launch timing will be announced only when that milestone has been completed.
